My name is Aleksa Simovic, I am a 22-year old man of Serbian ethnicity. My goal in the medical field is to become a surgeon. I came to Saba from Windsor, Ontario where I did my undergraduate education in Honors Biochemistry and Biomedical Sciences. I worked in a hospital in Windsor for 4 years during my undergraduate program. I enjoy going to the gym, playing volleyball and playing basketball. Here at SUSOM I am involved in the Athletics Club and the Scuba/Snorkel Club. I am very grateful for this opportunity and cannot wait to give back to the SUSOM community as the president this semester.

My name is Alison Keough. I am from Cape Breton Island on the East Coast of Canada. Before entering medical school I was a Registered Nurse in the Operating Room for 4 years. I enjoy family time, staying active, playing sports, hiking, scuba diving, camping in my 84’ VW Vanagon, and film photography. I am really looking forward to being an active member of the SUSOM community, and I am excited for my role in the SGA this semester.

I have a degree in Biological Sciences with a minor in Psychology from Simon Fraser University (SFU). I was born in the UK and now live in Vancouver BC, Canada. When I’m not hitting the books, you can find me at the gym, making music, or on the golf course with the boys. I’m excited to be a part of the SGA and the SUSOM community, and I look forward to contributing to our campus life. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. Hello everyone! My name is Amit Josan, and I am a 3rd-semester student here at Saba. I am from Surrey, B.C., Canada, where I graduated from The University of British Columbia with two bachelor's degrees; my first was a double major in chemistry and mathematics, while my second was a bachelor's in medical lab science. After that, I completed an accelerated nursing program at Kwantlen Polytechnic University and gained valuable experience working at an indigenous medical clinic in Vancouver's downtown eastside. After completing my nursing degree, I worked as a surgical nurse before coming to Saba. Apart from school, I have been training in Muay Thai for 15 years and previously competed; I am also currently a Brazilian jiu-jitsu blue belt, so if anyone is ever interested in training, feel free to contact me! Overall, I'm thrilled about this opportunity with the SGA and look forward to positively contributing to the SUSOM community! |

Justen Wilmot

I did my undergrad at the university of Waterloo in biomedical science with a minor in medical physiology. I like watching anime and playing basketball. Javier Monroy

I am Javier Monroy, first semester student at SUSOM. I was born and raised in Bogotá, Colombia, but moved to South Carolina in the US after turning sixteen years old. I graduated with a bachelors in biochemistry from Costal Carolina University in 2019. I have served in the US Army and plan to return once I’m in my future residency. I have tons of energy so I enjoy all outdoor activities and good food. I have always enjoyed helping others and placing their needs before mine, so being a part of the SGA this semester allows me to be the helping hand that, I know, most people never get.

My name is Nicola, and I am from Mississauga, Ontario. I attended The University of Toronto. Just to tell you a little more about me, I worked as a public servant for the Government of Canada for 7 years (during and after completing my undergraduate degree). However, I always knew I wanted to pursue a career in medicine, specifically paediatrics or surgery (maybe both). I am an open book so feel free to talk to me if you see me around. Some of my interests include vinyl records, playing The Sims, watching action movies and baking. I really look forward to being one of the class representatives this semester.

Hello All. My name is Dat Nguyen. I am currently in my second semester at SUSOM. My background is ICU Registered Nurse for 2 years. Then I was on active duty in the military for 12- year working in public health. I come from Pensacola, FL, US. I am excited to explore this new journey with many experienced and dedicated people in the field. My goal is to become a passionate doctor (I haven’t decided on the field yet) to improve patient treatment and advance public health practices. Outside of my normal routine life at school, I enjoy running and working out with friends, which provide me with balance and destress. I am eager to take on the GSA role to further contribute to student support and enhance community services.

Hello! My name is Ona Udoh. I am a 4th semester student from Fayetteville, North Carolina. I graduated from Wake Forest University with a Bachelor in Health and Exercise Science. If I am not in the library studying, I love playing basketball and working out in the gym. I also enjoy hanging out with my friends here on Saba and talking to my family and friends from back home when I can.
