Hello! My name is Edward Gebara and I am a fourth semester student at SUSOM. I am from Boston, Massachusetts. I graduated from Union College in Biomedical Engineering with minors in Chemistry and Electrical Engineering. I went on to complete a Masters in Immunology and Microbiology from Johns Hopkins. Following graduation I worked in research for 5 years prior to attending SUSOM. In my free time I like playing chess, hanging with friends, and going on walks with my coonhound Doug. I'm looking forward to being a part of the SGA as the President this semester!

Hi, my name is Anam Mohammed, and I am SGA Vice President. I am from Austin, Texas, born and raised. Before Saba, I was at St. Edward’s University, where I got my bachelor of science in biology. After Medical School, I am hoping to specialize in something regarding surgery, but I’m still considering my options. Additionally I would love to work at a teaching hospital to later work with medical students and residents. Some of my hobbies are reading and playing volleyball.

I am looking forward to being more involved at SUSOM through SGA.

Hi, I’m Vaishnovi Rajan, and I’m currently in my 3rd semester at SUSOM. I have a degree in Health Sciences with a double minor in Biology and Psychology from Wilfrid Laurier University. I was born in Mumbai, India, traveled quite a bit, and moved to Mississauga, Ontario, in 2009. After medical school, I plan to pursue pediatric oncology or neonatology, but I’m keeping an open mind—the world is my oyster, so this might change! If I’m not locked up in my room studying, you’ll probably find me binge-watching Netflix or doing my nails. I’m excited to be the VP of Communications this semester and part of the SGA and SUSOM community. If you have any questions or need anything, feel free to reach out—I’m happy to help!

After medical school, I plan to pursue cardiovascular but I am still currently open to options. Hello everyone! My name is Aya Aljanadi, and I’m a first-semester student. I am from Paterson, New Jersey, and I graduated from Montclair State University with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. In my free time, I enjoy dancing, spending time with my family and friends, watching tv shows and cooking. I’ve always been a people person, and I genuinely love connecting with others. I’m honored to serve in SGA, where I can help amplify student voices, strengthen our community, and ensure everyone feels supported throughout their medical journey. Hello everyone! My name is Joshua Paes and I’m a first semester student. I’m from Mississauga, Ontario and I just graduated from the University of Toronto with an Honours Bachelor of Science in Biology for Health Sciences. In my spare time, I enjoy cooking, playing horror video games and collecting sports jerseys (I have over 65 in my collection). I’m really excited about being part of SGA and creating a school enrolment conducive to learning, growth and ultimately, becoming the best doctors we can become.

Hi! My name is Georgia Stewart. I am a second semester student here at SUSOM. Before medical school, I completed my undergraduate degree in Health Sciences and then a Master’s degree in Interdisciplinary Health Sciences at the University of Ottawa. I enjoy playing rugby, running, and spending time outside. I am looking forward to being a part of the SGA and helping the SUSOM community in any way I can.

My name is Azlan Khan and I'm one of the third semester class representatives. I'm from North Carolina, USA and got my Bachelors in Biology and Neuroscience at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Before coming to Saba, I spent 3 years working as a medical assistant at a dermatology clinic in my hometown. I'm currently not sure what I would like to specialize in following graduation, but I hope to practice rural medicine. I enjoy going to the gym and trying to keep up with my growing list of animes in my free time. I've always loved contributing and trying to give back to the schools I've attended and am excited to continue this by being a member of SGA at SUSOM.

My name is Ali Elsadi, and I’m currently in my third semester at SUSOM. I transferred from the University of Western Ontario, where I studied Biology. Hello everyone! My name is Amit Josan, and I am a 5th-semester student here at Saba. I am from Surrey, B.C., Canada, where I graduated from The University of British Columbia with two bachelor's degrees; my first was a double major in chemistry and mathematics, while my second was a bachelor's in medical lab science. After that, I completed an accelerated nursing program at Kwantlen Polytechnic University and gained valuable experience working at an indigenous medical clinic in Vancouver's downtown eastside. After completing my nursing degree, I worked as a surgical nurse before coming to Saba.  Apart from school, I have been training in Muay Thai for 15 years and previously competed; I am also currently a Brazilian jiu-jitsu blue belt, so if anyone is ever interested in training, feel free to contact me!  Overall, I'm thrilled about this opportunity and look forward to positively contributing to the SUSOM community!

Hi everyone! My name is Jahasia Gillespie, and I’m currently in my 5th semester here at SUSOM. I’m originally from Harlem, New York, and I’m excited to serve as this semester’s class representative and continue contributing to the SUSOM community. I earned my Bachelor's degree in Psychological Science from Penn State University and completed a Master’s in Biomedical Sciences at Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine. Before medical school, I worked in a variety of healthcare roles, including emergency room tech, ICU tech, emergency medicine scribe, phlebotomist, and most recently as a medical laboratory scientist. I’m also the current president of the SUSOM Neurology Interest Group, and I serve on the executive boards of both the African Diaspora Association and the Christian Student Association. I’m really looking forward to the upcoming events and fundraisers we have planned this semester! You can usually find me studying in the fishbowl—feel free to say hi or reach out if you ever need help or have questions. I’m always happy to assist or point you in the right direction.
